Terms of Service

The rules for creating, sharing, and playing on Questline.

Effective

About these Terms

Questline is operated by Josh Somers. You can contact Josh at joshsomers96@gmail.com.

These Terms explain how you may use Questline at questline.win, including its account, creation, sharing, and play features. In these Terms, “Questline”, “we”, and “us” mean the operator named above. “You” means the person using the service.

You must accept these Terms before creating an account or using features that require an account. If you do not agree, do not use those features. You can keep a copy of these Terms for your records.

Who can use Questline

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use Questline’s creation and play features, and meet any higher minimum age that applies where you live. If you are below the age of legal adulthood, you must have any parental or guardian permission required by local law. Your parent or guardian should review these Terms with you.

Do not misrepresent your age or use Questline if a lawful restriction prevents you from doing so. Game age ratings and the eligibility rules of services you use alongside Questline apply separately.

Your account

Provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in credentials secure. Choose a handle that does not impersonate another person or organisation or break the content rules below.

Do not sell, transfer, or share your account. Tell us at joshsomers96@gmail.com if you believe someone has accessed it without permission. You are responsible for activity you authorise and for taking reasonable steps to protect your account; you are not automatically responsible for every unauthorised use.

Do not create or use additional accounts to evade a suspension, obtain extra official attempts, or manipulate results.

What Questline provides

Questline helps people create and share game-specific Quests, Questlines, and Quest Pools, and play Sessions alone or with others. A Questline is a playable Board of Quests, either arranged directly by its creator or seeded from a Quest Pool. A saved seeded Board keeps its selected Quests; later changes to the source Pool do not update it. Private multiplayer Sessions support Teams or individual competitors. Daily Boss Battles provide daily solo challenges and leaderboards for supported games.

You play the underlying game separately. Questline records the Quest completions you report and applies its own Session rules; it does not control or independently check your gameplay in that game.

You must obtain your own lawful access to the underlying games and follow their publishers’ rules. Questline does not grant game licences or permission to use a publisher’s intellectual property. A game’s appearance on Questline does not imply its publisher endorses the service.

Questline currently does not charge for access. If we introduce paid features, we will explain the price and applicable purchase terms before you choose to buy. These Terms do not authorise us to charge you automatically.

Acceptable use and content

Use Questline lawfully and treat other people respectfully. These rules apply to handles, Quest text, titles, descriptions, Team names, video links, feedback, and any other material or activity you submit through the service.

You must not:

  • Threaten, harass, stalk, bully, or target someone with abuse, including attacks based on characteristics such as race, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
  • Encourage real-world violence, terrorism, exploitation, or other criminal activity.
  • Share sexual exploitation or abuse material involving children, groom children, or use the service to facilitate their exploitation.
  • Share pornography, sexually explicit material, non-consensual intimate material, or graphic real-world violence.
  • Encourage real-world suicide or self-harm, or provide instructions for them or for dangerous real-world challenges.
  • Reveal another person’s private information without a lawful basis, including their address, contact details, credentials, or private communications.
  • Post content you do not have the necessary rights to use, including unlawfully copied material, pirated games, or links intended to facilitate infringement.
  • Impersonate someone, mislead people about sponsorship or affiliation, or operate scams, phishing, fraudulent promotions, spam, or unsolicited advertising.
  • Submit content or links designed to spread malware, steal information, or deceive people into unsafe activity.

Quests and discussion about fictional events within a game, including combat, are permitted. These rules still apply to the way you address real people and to material you share alongside those Quests or discussions.

Fair play and Session rules

Report Quest completion honestly. Do not deliberately submit false claims, fabricated results, misleading recordings, or claims for something you have not completed in the underlying game. Correct mistakes using the available controls or tell the Session host.

Before a private Session starts, its host should explain any extra rules, including the use of mods, glitches, difficulty settings, existing saves, or outside assistance. Follow the rules agreed for that Session. Hosts choose the Session settings and can manage Teams through the available lobby controls. They must follow these Terms and must not present their own decisions as decisions made by Questline.

For Daily Boss Battles, follow the encounter’s published rules, including the fresh-save requirement. Your first attempt at each game’s daily encounter is your official attempt, even if you lose, abandon it, or let it expire. Later attempts at that encounter are practice, where available. Do not use extra accounts or bypass access controls to obtain another official attempt or information the service intentionally withholds before your attempt. The official clock continues through disconnections and cannot be paused.

Quest Claims report what a player says they completed. Their timestamps record when claims were submitted to Questline, rather than independently establishing when completion happened in the underlying game. Replays show recorded activity within Questline. A leaderboard entry, replay, or attached recording does not mean Questline has independently verified the underlying gameplay. The “With video” leaderboard view selects runs with an attached recording; a player may also see their own unrecorded attempt there without a rank. It does not certify or review results.

Protecting the service

Do not access another person’s account or private resources without permission, circumvent authentication or access restrictions, manipulate the service’s commands or records to gain an unfair advantage, or tamper with other players’ Sessions. Competitive actions provided by the app, such as Clash attacks, are permitted under the Session’s rules.

Do not disrupt the service, intentionally overload it, distribute malicious code, evade rate limits, or use automation to create spam or manipulate rankings. Do not bulk collect personal information about users or extract content in ways that bypass access controls or infringe others’ rights. Ordinary sharing through Questline’s available features is allowed, as is authorised search indexing of public pages.

If you discover a security issue, report it privately to joshsomers96@gmail.com. Limit any investigation to activity you are authorised to perform, avoid accessing other people’s information, and do not exploit the issue or disclose private data.

Your content and the permission you give us

You keep any intellectual property rights you hold in your original content. You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit it and allow the uses described here. You cannot grant rights that belong to a game publisher, another creator, or a video provider.

You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, display, distribute, and make technical adaptations to your submitted content as reasonably necessary to operate Questline. This includes formatting content for display, creating seeded Boards, sharing it with the audience permitted by the relevant feature, and maintaining Session records. We may allow our service providers to carry out these activities for us under appropriate restrictions.

For content that is public as explained in the visibility section below, this permission also covers displaying it in Questline’s discovery pages and previews when a Questline link is shared. Other users may play it and reuse public Quest text or seed Boards from public Quest Pools through the service’s available features. They do not receive ownership of your work or an unrestricted licence to resell it elsewhere.

We will seek separate permission before using your content in advertising outside these service and sharing features. These Terms do not grant us a general right to sell your content.

Removing a Board or Pool or deleting your account does not itself remove shared Quest text from the community library. The permission for that shared text continues while it remains available, so other users can keep using it through Questline. Permission also continues for previously authorised saved Boards and shared Session records.

When the content itself is removed from Questline, this licence ends for new uses. It continues only as needed for previously authorised saved Boards and shared Session records, resolving disputes, legal obligations, and normal backup removal. These permissions remain subject to applicable law and the personal-data rights explained in the Privacy Notice.

Visibility and shared records

Individual Quest text saved to a fixed or seeded Board is added to Questline’s public community Quest library, including when the Board or its source Quest Pool is private. For seeded Boards, this is the selected Quest text after any variables have been filled in; it does not publish the entire source Pool. A private Board or Pool does not make that separately saved Quest text confidential. Do not put personal, confidential, or sensitive information in Quest text.

Check each resource’s visibility before saving or sharing it. A seeded Board’s hidden setting conceals its Quests in public previews. A Session’s reveal setting controls whether players see its Board in the lobby or as the Session starts. Neither setting makes the resource private or removes separately saved Quest text from the community library. Public content may appear in search engines and link previews.

Private multiplayer Sessions are joined through Session links and may use a lobby password. Share those links and passwords only with your intended group. Without a password, other signed-in users with the link can join while the lobby is open.

Daily Boss Battle official entries, public handles, completed-attempt replay details, and attached video links become visible according to the encounter’s access rules. Today’s leaderboard and public replay access are locked until the viewer’s official attempt ends or the next daily rollover at midnight UTC. Past leaderboards are public, and official attempt replays become accessible once those attempts have finished. Practice attempts are not included in these public leaderboard and replay features.

Other users may have already used public Quests or saved Boards based on a public Quest Pool. Removing an original resource or deleting your account does not necessarily remove shared Quests from the community library, those saved Boards, or other players’ historical records. Shared Quests may remain available for new Boards as well as existing ones. We cannot recall copies people have independently made outside Questline or immediately remove third-party search caches. These limits do not prevent you from exercising your legal rights.

Recordings and third-party services

Eligible completed official Daily Boss Battle attempts can carry a public recording link. Practice attempts cannot carry an attached recording through this feature. Follow the submission and replacement limits shown in the app.

Only attach a recording you have permission to share and that accurately represents the attempt it is attached to. Do not attach another person’s run as your own or edit a recording to mislead viewers about completion, timing, or rule compliance. Obtain any permission needed for other people’s voices, images, or personal information in it.

Questline supports links to recordings hosted on YouTube, Twitch, and Kick and displays them through external links or embeds. It does not upload or host the video files. Those providers have their own terms, privacy practices, availability, and removal processes. A recording may become unavailable or expire. Questline does not guarantee that an external link or embed will remain accessible.

Third-party sign-in providers and underlying games also have their own terms. Our permission to use Questline does not replace the permissions you need from them.

Streams and community events

You may show your use of Questline in streams, videos, and other creator content, including content you monetise, provided you respect these Terms and third-party rights. Do not imply that Questline sponsors or endorses your content or event unless we have agreed to that.

You may use Questline for free-entry community challenges. Questline supplies the Board and Session features; it does not organise your event, collect entry fees, or distribute prizes. If you separately offer a prize, you are responsible for lawful eligibility rules, clear event terms, and delivering it. Questline does not administer or guarantee third-party prizes or resolve their payment disputes.

Do not use Questline to solicit or administer bets, wagers, stakes, or paid-entry competitions. Questline’s results and rankings do not represent money or something redeemable for money.

Reports and moderation

Anyone can report illegal content, a violation of these Terms, or a concern about how we handle safety by emailing joshsomers96@gmail.com. You do not need a Questline account. Include the relevant link or resource identifier and a short explanation. Do not download or forward illegal imagery; identify its location instead.

We review reports and prioritise risks to people’s safety. We may also identify issues through administrator review or other lawful information. We consider the available evidence, relevant context, seriousness, and any repeated behaviour. We take proportionate steps to restrict access to illegal content and remove it promptly when we become aware of it.

Depending on the issue, we may warn a user, hide a Questline or Quest Pool, restrict or remove other content or links, or suspend or permanently end access to an account. Serious or urgent safety, security, or legal issues may require immediate action. We may preserve relevant records or report matters to authorities where lawful and appropriate.

Where practicable and lawful, we will tell an affected account holder what action we took and why. We may limit that explanation if giving it would undermine an investigation, expose someone’s private information, create a safety or security risk, or break the law.

You can challenge a moderation decision or complain about our handling of a report by emailing joshsomers96@gmail.com, including any relevant context. We will review the complaint fairly and correct mistakes where appropriate. This does not limit any legal remedy available to you. Reports, complaints, and appeals must not be used to harass people or knowingly make false allegations.

Privacy and leaving Questline

Our Privacy Notice explains how we process personal data and your privacy choices. Accepting these Terms does not give consent to optional analytics; that choice is separate.

You may stop using Questline at any time. Account deletion is available in Settings. If you cannot access your account, contact joshsomers96@gmail.com for help, subject to reasonable identity checks.

Deletion locks your account, starts removal of your Questline sign-in, replaces your email and public handle, deletes your feedback, and removes your authored Questlines and Quest Pools from public view. Shared Quests can remain available in the community library, and Session history can remain to preserve other players’ records. Retained records use a replacement identifier or a deleted-player label. If removal of your Questline sign-in is delayed, the account remains locked while that step is retried. The Privacy Notice explains retention and any additional rights to request deletion of personal data.

Availability and our responsibility

We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Questline may have interruptions, bugs, maintenance periods, or features that change. Keep your own copies of content you need; the service does not guarantee permanent storage, uninterrupted play, or the accuracy of user-submitted results.

We may change or retire features for reasonable product, operational, security, or legal reasons. Where a change or closure materially affects your use, we will give reasonable advance notice and an opportunity to save your content where practicable. Urgent security or legal issues may require faster action.

We are responsible for loss or damage caused by our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill where that loss was reasonably foreseeable. We are not responsible for loss caused solely by events outside our reasonable control or by your own breach of these Terms. We do not promise income, audiences, or commercial success from using Questline.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything else the law does not allow us to exclude or limit. Your mandatory consumer and other legal rights remain unaffected.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the service, changes in law, or necessary safety and security measures. We will publish the new version and its effective date. For changes that materially affect your rights or obligations, we will give at least 14 days’ advance notice by an appropriate in-app notice or account email, unless an urgent legal, safety, or security reason requires earlier action. We will explain the reason when that happens.

Changes apply prospectively and do not alter rights relating to an existing dispute. Where your agreement is required, we will ask for it before applying the change to you. If you do not accept an applicable change, you can stop using the affected features and close your account.

Contact and disputes

Contact joshsomers96@gmail.com about these Terms, your account, content, reports, or complaints. We will try to resolve concerns fairly, but you do not have to complete an informal process before using a legal remedy available to you.

Nothing in these Terms removes mandatory protections available under the law of your country of residence. You may bring a dispute before any court that has jurisdiction under applicable law, including your local courts where the law gives you that right.

If a provision cannot lawfully be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply where they can operate fairly without it.
